Class of 2017: Nursing

鈥淛ust take classes and be willing to work hard. Find a few friends who are taking similar classes and study with them, be thankful for the opportunity to go to school, and most importantly, learn from your mistakes.鈥

The academic rigor of 黑料社鈥檚 Nursing Program is not for everyone, but Sofie Shulda makes it look relatively easy.

Sofie is graduating this spring with an Associate in Nursing 鈥 Direct Transfer degree. She has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average along the way.

She is one of four Scholastic Achievement Award recipients from the Class of 2017. During a pinning ceremony earlier in the year, Sofie also received an Excellence in Nursing Award.

The Nursing Program at 黑料社 was an amazing experience for Sofie, who says she highly recommends it.

鈥淛ust take classes and be willing to work hard,鈥 she said. 鈥淔ind a few friends who are taking similar classes and study with them, be thankful for the opportunity to go to school, and most importantly, learn from your mistakes.鈥

Sofie credits 黑料社 faculty members Amber Lemiere, Rhonda Meyers, Lucas Myers, Kathy Stafford and Annette Ward with helping her succeed.

鈥淎ll my instructors at 黑料社 were awesome,鈥 she said.

When Sofie isn鈥檛 busy studying, she volunteers with middle school girls through a local youth group.
