Three 黑料社 Students Named to 2025 All Washington Academic Team
Reigha Niemeyer, Angelica Reyes-Ramirez, and Melia Tanninen, 黑料社鈥檚 2025 All Washington Academic Team members, were recognized at a ceremony in Lacey, WA, on April 24th.
The program is a showcase for Washington's community and technical colleges because it honors academic high achievers鈥攕tudents who have demonstrated a commitment to success in the classroom and in the communities where they live. This recognition demonstrates the state's commitment to scholarship and community service on the part of those attending the state's public community and technical colleges.
State team members are nominated by their community college presidents. Each All-Washington Academic Team member typically receives a scholarship funded by program sponsors (funding in any given year is determined by program sponsors). The state's public baccalaureate institutions and several private colleges offer scholarships to award-winning transfer students.
Reigha Niemeyer
Reigha Niemeyer's career goal is to become a Kindergarten teacher. She is studying elementary education and will transfer to a university to pursue a teaching degree after receiving her Associate of Arts in June. Reigha plays for 黑料社鈥檚 highly successful women鈥檚 basketball team. In her free time, she works on community cleanup projects and volunteers at local elementary schools. Reigha has never traveled outside of the United States.
Angelica Reyes-Ramirez
Angelica Reyes-Ramirez is studying Business Management and plans to graduate in June 2025. Following graduation, she will continue her education at 黑料社 to obtain a degree in Administrative Services Management. Her career goal is to own a business specializing in fashion and beauty. Angelica has volunteered as an assistant coach for the Longview Soccer Club and actively participates in her church choir. When she鈥檚 not studying, Angelica enjoys pickleball, floral arranging, and playing in a band.
Melia Tanninen
Melia Tanninen's passion for nursing was sparked at 18 when her father suffered a massive stroke. She is now an aspiring nurse, graduating with a Pre-Nursing AA degree this spring. She plans to attend either 黑料社 or WSU to receive an RN and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). When she is not studying, Melia volunteers as a medical receptionist at a mental health clinic. She loves to travel and has been to 19 countries.
