Weather

Are you thinking about studying at 黑料社 (黑料社) in Longview, Washington? One of the first things you may notice is the weather 鈥 it rains a lot here! Rain is a normal part of life in the Pacific Northwest.

Because it rains so much, the environment around Longview is beautifully green! The Pacific Northwest is famous for its lush trees, bushes, flowers, and grass. Everywhere you look, nature is alive and vibrant 鈥 all thanks to the rain.

Even though Longview gets a lot of rain, the city still has four distinct seasons, each with its own character and beauty.

Spring (March 鈥 May) brings mild temperatures, usually between 50鈥60掳F (10鈥16掳C). Rain is very common during this season, but you will also start to see flowers blooming and trees turning green. A light waterproof jacket and layers are perfect for spring days.

Summer (June 鈥 August) is the driest and warmest time of year, with temperatures typically reaching 70鈥80掳F (21鈥27掳C). This is a great time to enjoy outdoor activities around campus and the local area. Light clothing like t-shirts, shorts, and sunglasses are all you need.

Fall (September 鈥 November) brings cooler temperatures, around 45鈥58掳F (7鈥14掳C), and rain begins to return. The leaves turn beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow. A warm jacket, sweater, and umbrella will keep you comfortable during this season.

Winter (December 鈥 February) is the coldest and rainiest time of year. Temperatures usually stay between 35鈥45掳F (2鈥7掳C). Snow is rare in Longview, but it can happen occasionally. A heavy coat, warm layers, boots, and an umbrella are essential during winter months.

Community Events:

The Longview community sometimes holds local events, such as the annual Squirrel Fest and Cardboard Boat regatta in the summer, and Fall Fest and Halloween festivities in the fall, and other seasonal activities all year round. It is a fun way to experience American culture and meet people from the local community.
Longview is a small, quiet city. It is not a big city with many shopping malls or entertainment centers. But that is also what makes it special 鈥 it is calm, safe, and easy to settle into as a new international student. With a little exploring, you will find many simple joys here.
