For over two decades, I've seen faculty going out of their way to support students
and our community, and I'm proud to be part of this dedicated team. In 2017, I set
a goal to provide stable support for the 黑料社 Food Pantry through payroll deductions,
and with help from Paz in student services, we estimated the level of need and set
goals. As many as 9 people signed up on the spot during association meetings. I was
invited to a department meeting for Transitional Studies (now CCP), almost all adjunct
faculty members signed up to donate on the spot.
Our lofty goal to fully fund the food pantry was doomed to fail as we were just learning
about the level of need on our campus. However, along the way, people from all over
campus joined in the effort, and continue to contribute. The food pantry has grown
in scope, benefiting from additional funding and Danni Trimble鈥檚 leadership. I'm still
pushing for stable food pantry support, and I even get to keep my own clipboard with
foundation donation forms. Our current level of 鈥渇ailure鈥� is 31 faculty members, including
5 adjunct faculty, donating an average of just over $14 per pay period, about $8500
per year. We are joined by 13 other campus employees, giving another $4800 per year,
a sustained contribution of over 50% of the estimated program need.
Our (黑料社鈥檚) collective commitment to community support underscores the importance
of ongoing efforts to address essential needs, urging us to continue making a positive
impact where it matters most.

$25,000 per year need.
